Naruto chewed on his lips anxiously. He was aware Sasuke was annoyed with him, but that didn’t stop the blonde at all. He had made a promise to himself that if he ever got the chance, he would say whatever he needed to in order to get Sasuke to come home and stay there.

“Don’t be so grumpy, Teme,” Naruto shot at the raven haired male before he sighed and took a breath. “You may not have anything you wanna say to me, but I have plenty I wanna say to you,” The blonde added as he stared at Sasuke.

Maybe this wasn’t the best way to start a conversation…but Naruto didn’t know how else to put his words. In the past, all polite attempts of talking had been laughed at. Maybe this time, if Naruto demanded Sasuke’s attention, he’d get it.

The familiar and formal way in which Naruto spoke to him caused the evident twitch of his brow. Sasuke simply loathed that high-pitched, scraping voice, especially when it muttered talk of hope and ‘saving’ Sasuke. What could he possibly have to talk with him about? Nothing new, he expected. The mere mannerisms Naruto associated with, was enough to get his blood to a livid boil.

“Oh?” He would only give the Dobe a few short answers, wanting to keep this conversation as brief as possible, and if it escalated to something he’d rather not talk about, well..

The simple fact was, Sasuke didn’t want to be bothered with Naruto; wanted nothing to do with him. His death would greatly benefit him, though at times the thought caused a feeling of forlorn. It was unfamiliar, so he never once acknowledged it. He never once acknowledged the potential future he could have had, if he’d stayed.

“Make it quick, or I’ll kill you.”
